On V-Dem Liberal Democracy: Hungary 0.63 (2014) → 0.41 (2026). India 0.71 → 0.26. Both started above 0.6; both ended below 0.45. India's slide started later but went further. The Hungary 2010-2024 trajectory has become the most-cited template for understanding India's path.
